Welcome

"As a child develops, the activities progress from the hands-on concrete experiences of the sandpaper letters and numerals to the increasingly abstract world of reading, writing and numeracy."

Welcome to St Andrew’s Nursery!

As parents you may have started thinking about your child’s first steps into the world of education and indeed it is often a worrying and daunting task. How can you choose? Will your child be happy, safe and learn new things? Having been a Nursery teacher for many years, I can assure you that at St Andrew’s we understand your concerns and offer a solution to your dilemma.

Our Nursery is situated in the quiet location of the Coach House with easy access to the Junior School and their facilities. The spacious accommodation, both inside and out, enables us to offer a stimulating and well resourced learning environment that is constantly evolving as our children develop and mature.

Experienced, qualified staff encourage your child to become a confident communicator and develop a love of learning by fostering their natural curiosity of the world around them. Our generous staff/child ratios allow us to give your child individual daily attention and to tailor their education according to their individual needs. There is time to talk and to be listened to. Time to explore and experiment. Each child will have a ’special’ adult, a Key Worker, who will build up an in-depth understanding of your child’s character and interests, providing a vital link between home and school. From this secure relationship comes a strong foundation from which your child can start to explore the world away from their home environment.

Our holistic, multi-sensory approach to learning ensures that your child learns all the necessary skills to embrace not only the next stage of learning but also life itself. Please don’t take my word for it, come and visit our Nursery, see all we have to offer and talk with us about your child’s first steps into the world of education.
