Our aim is to create a love of learning and reading.
Our Learning Resource Centre has a relaxed and happy environment where there is up to date information available with unlimited support. With our broad and regularly updated resources, supported by literary events and activities, pupils are inspired to learn.
Lively and fun story time and activity sessions are held for the younger children to develop a love of reading. As they grow they enjoy access to books, CD’s DVD’s Newspapers, and a constantly changing selection of magazines.
Each year group from year 3 to 9, has a structured library lesson and also work towards their Independent Reading Awards.
Our latest statistics have shown that there is a direct relationship between the amount a student reads for pleasure and the improvement in the students attainments in the curriculum.
Pupils have ready access to the internet and electronic resources for up to the minute information using our iPads, and desktop systems.
The Learning Resource Centre is accessible throughout the day. Pupils are welcome to come in during breaks and lunchtimes. At the end of the day, we have a successful Homework Club where our Learning Resource Manager ensures pupils have the encouragement and help they need.
